Hey folks! I hope you are all having a great week and are back into the swing of work after the Bank Holiday weekend.
For me this week has been no different as I was working 9am to 8pm on Monday. It sounds like a long shift but it actually went really fast as there was so much work to do.
Now since it is Wednesday to day it can only mean one thing…
For this weeks WIAW I thought I would do something a little different. A few of you lovely readers have requested a “day in the life of” post, so I thought it would make a great WIAW. Since I had yesterday off from work I thought it would make for a slightly more interesting read.
7.30 am: Woke up cleaned teeth and washed face.
7.45: I got on with some with some house work including laundry, dusting, hovering, washing up and cleaning my bedroom. Some tempeh was also marinated.
8.30: Showered, dressed and made myself look presentable.
On went my favourite jeweled ballet pumps from Mimco and my owl necklace from Accessorize which always make me happy!
9.00 It was time for breakfast…
10 Hot Grain cereal made with water and hemp milk with cinnamon goji berries, dark chocolate covered pomegranate seeds and raisins…amazing!
9.20 Next I made a huge mug of Earl Grey tea and finished writing and hit publish on my latest Operation Wedding post all about beautiful shoes.
9.50 I got some blog work done and caught up with my favourite blogs and drank some more Earl Grey tea.
11.30 It was time to go to uni to have a meeting with my supervisor about my thesis.
It was such a beautiful day!
11.45 Before heading to my meeting I popped into the post office on campus to run some errands and also raided the ethnic aisle of the adjoining shop and picked up some light soy sauce, sesame oil, 5 spice tofu and some mixed salad leaves.
12.10 pm I headed to my lab to see if my supervisor was there only to find that he wasn’t going to be in till after 1 pm, so I decided to head to the gym to do my strength and cardio routine.
1.30 Luckily I had the foresight to pack some snacks as I was getting really hungry after my workout…
An apple and an orange
1.45 Finally my supervisor was around and we had a very productive meeting about some revisions about some of my final chapters, almost there!
3.00 The meeting went on longer than I expected, so after freshening up it meant that lunch was later than usual.
A salad which included mixed salad leaves, tomatoes, cucumber, red peppers, bulgar wheat, buffalo mozzarella with a green pesto dressing…so so good!
3.30 I wrote up the notes from the meeting and do some data analysis for some figures that I have produce for my thesis.
5.00 Apple and pear green tea was consumed.
6.30 I started to bake some tempeh ready for dinner.
7.15 Dinner was served.
Sesame and ginger stir fried vegetables including mange tout, hispi cabbage, green beans, sweet corn, asparagus and a red pepper sprinkled with black sesame seeds and the baked tempeh…total yumminess!
7.30 TV time!
8.15 Still watching TV whilst catching up with wedding blogs. I am obsessed with them. Even though I was still quite full from dinner I still wanted something sweet so I had 2 dark chocolate Reese PB cups with a mug of Chai tea.
9.30 I got my lunch, snacks and clothes ready for work and laid out my running gear for an early morning run.
11.00 Listened to some relaxing music in bed to help me drift off to sleep.
So not a bad day at all and I actually got quite a bit of work done too. The meeting with my supervisor has really refocused me and given me the motivation that I need for that last push to get that darn PhD.
Do you enjoy “day in the life of” posts? I know I definitely do when I read them on other blogs, purely due to the fact that I’m just plain nosey.
What is the best that you have eaten today?
