My First Vlog!

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you have all started the new week with a bang!

Since deciding to do my own make up for my big day I have been excitedly looking through the make up halls and counters in the shops and have come across some amazing products that I really want to try.   With the cost of the wedding growing and growing I have been looking at cheaper alternatives to my premium brand favourites.  Also, reading lots of beauty blogs led me to discover CoverGirl LashBlast.

I thought my experience with this mascara would make a great feature for my very first vlog!  Please bear with me on this one.  I am a little bit shaky and the video quality isn’t the best.  I thought I would keep it short and sweet just because this is my first one, kind of like a test run.

…deep breath…here goes nothing…

Like I said in the video I am really impressed with this mascara.  I have never bought cosmetics from eBay before as there are a lot of dupes out there.  However, I got this from a reputable seller who I believe I can trust, so I’m happy!

I really wasn’t blessed with long curly lashes, for some reason mu little brother has those…damn it! I have short thick stubby ones so I am always on the lok out for good mascaras.

My short stubby lashes!

My dream is extra thick, long and flirty lashes as I love that look.  I think that with a few coats of CoverGirl Lash Blast I achieved that look with no clumping which is a bonus!

Big ass lashes!

The short plastic bristles on the huge brush apparent catch every single lash which results in the volume.  The only issue with this mascara that I have experienced so far is that the brush is so big it makes it difficult to coat my lower lashes without getting panda eyes.

This mascara gets a thumbs up from me!

If you like my vlog then these give it a “thumbs up!” you can also subscribe to my new YouTube channel.

What mascara are you currently using? Have you ever used CoverGirl LashBlast before?

What did you think of the vlog? Is it something that you would like to see more of?

*Please note that I bought this product out of my own money and I am not affiliated with CoverGirl in any way.  All opinions are my own!

Awwww YAY for your first vlog!!! You talk just how I imagined haha! And I think you did really well for your first one ;)
That mascara does look really good because my eyelashes are identical to your kind…I may have to make an order so thankyou so much for sharing lovie! <3

Love the vlog!! I have exactly the same type of eyelashes I think – short, quite thick and really difficult to enhance to be honest. I see beauty videos of women with beautiful long lashes which are so well defined and lenghthened with mascara so it’s nice to see someone one with relatable ones! :-)

My favourite mascara to date (price taken into account etc) is the Estée Lauder Projectionist…although I’m beginning to wonder if I’m remembering it better than it was! I’m currently using the Lancome Hypnose (non waterproof) and it’s okay but I wouldn’t repurchase considering the £23 price tag. I would rather get the DiorShow for that price! :-)

I would love to see more beauty vlogs because I’m obssessed with them and love how you can learn about all different sorts of products you may not have thought to try before!

Yes to the VLogs! I think yours was the perfect length, and that you have a very natural manner on camera without a hint of awkwardness. Definitely a success!

I actually can’t wear mascara due to my eczema (or any other make-up besides *one* brand of hypoallergenic concealer) but I still enjoyed watching the Vlog :)

Jemma, you’re adorable!!! I love your blog! (I’m so jealous of your accent, obviously, haha)

I’ve tried that mascara and I liked it! Right now I’m use a Revlon mascara and I don’t like it as much… it smudges too easily!

Loved this!! You sound/speak exactly as a I pictured and are just as lovely as you seem in writing – so nice to put a moving face to all the posts :D And good review as well, I’ve always wondered about coverGIRL after seeing it featured so much on America’s Next Top Model (yes, I’ll admit to watching that show!)

If you’re still looking for mascaras to review I highly recommend the Smashbox Lash DNA or Full Exposure. They are a bit pricey but really well worth it.

I used to use that mascara all the time and I really like it! :) I only switched to something else because the store was out of that one for a few weeks for some reason!

    Yay go Jem! Love love.
Volume Million Lashes by L’oreal is my current fave, I use a clear mascara first, let it dry a little,
Blast my No7 lash curlers with the hairdryer for two seconds to heat them up,
    Curl my lashes,
    Then use the L’oreal mascara.
Sounds long winded but really helps my little stubbies!

    Lots of Love,
    Gina xoxo

The brush is fat but has soft and short bristles. Normally I don’t like fat brushes but lash blast doesn’t make it hard for me to apply the product. So far I haven’t poked my eyes yet :D. It separates my lashes well and doesn’t clump at all! The product isn’t runny or too thick that I can put on 5 layers without having to worry about clumping. This mascara makes me look like i have natural full lashes. The shade I have is in black and this is non-waterproof but it can hold a curl just fine. This washes off easy but doesn’t smudge! It does’t have a strong odor and it doesn’t sting my eyes. I have been using this for a week now and I haven’t experienced any irritation.
