Feeling great and a tasty new snack!

So far this weekend I have just been working, chilling with Alfie and watching movies and enjoying some delicious food!

Yesterday for breakfast I was fed up with the grey clouds in the sky. It was so sunny during the week and the clouds and heavy rain decided to make an appearance on Friday.  Not to be beaten by the rain I decided to bring summer indoors with my breakfast.

Fresh pineapple, persimmon, strawberries, blueberries and apricots with soy yoghurt and spelt berry puffs.   I love a bowl of fresh fruit and yoghurt.

Mid morning I ate a massive pink lady apple.  Definitely a favourite of mine!

These have to be the best apples ever, crunchy and sweet! D

For lunch I made a big salad beast, I swear my salads get bigger and bigger with everyone I make.  This one included spinach, curly lettuce, lemon and herb cous cous, butter beans, raddishes, carrots, tomatoes, cucumber and topped off with some delicious Sabra hummus, yum!

Later that afternoon I had a new snack of dried prunes dipped in almond butter:

Ok so it doesn’t taste extraordinary but it really tasted incredible.  The sweet prunes with the creamy almond butter make a winning combination.  I will definitely be having this more often.

Alfie already had my dinner on the hob when I got home, love this guy!  He made me one of his omelet specials which had onion, sweet red peppers and broccoli with creamy buffalo mozzarella in it.  He spread some pesto on top and folded it over and served some kale on the side.

This was so good!

We then settled in for the night and watched a movie, which obviously requires munchies.

I popped some corn in some coconut oil and sprinkled on some cinnamon added some Lindt dark chocolate and coconut to the mix for good measure!

This weeks workouts looked like this:

Monday: Strength workout Aand 20 minutes of HIITS on the bike and cross trainer

Tuesday: 10 minute warm up on the cross trainer and 1 hour Body Pump class

Wednesday: 3.5 mile run plus ab work

Thursday: REST

Friday: Strength workout Band 20 minutes of HIITS on the bike and cross trainer

Saturday: REST

Sunday: 5-7 mile run after work tonight

I cannot wait to go on my run this evening.  It has been nice to see that I’m able to increase my distances. I’m determined to get my mileage back up to 11 miles like last year. Not because I’m competing in a race or anything or with myself. It’s just the feeling of being out there and just enjoying running. I’m feeling so much stronger and healthier right now!

This week I went to the new Body Pump class and it was so awesome. I know I continuously go on about how much I am in love with Body Pump but it really is that good. My body has become so much more toned because of it. I’ve noticed that I am definitely more defined on my upper body, particularly in my arms and shoulders, which is great for wedding dress purposes. My back is shaping up nicely too! Some of the new moves in the new release are great!

The only snag that I have about the new Body Pump class is the cool down track. It’s a version of Andrea Bocelli’s Time to Say Goodbye. I get the feeling that they wanted an epic and dramatized end to a fantastic class, but I found it bit too much. Although I did find myself elongating my arms and pointing my toes more, it must have been the opera music making the wannabe ballerina come out in me. Open-mouthed smile

Have you been to the new Body Pump class?

How are you feeling about your workouts at the moment?

Tried any new snacks recently?

I love your breakfast – so pretty! :) I was sent some puffed spelt in my foodie penpal swap so will have to make something similar soon!

I love Body Pump too. My local gym started doing it 5-6 weeks ago and it is definitely my favourite class now. We haven’t had the new release yet though – maybe tomorrow? We actually had Andrea Bocelli’s Con Te Partiro as the song we walked out to at our wedding, but (bad language student alert!) I hadn’t even thought about what the actual translation was – we were in such a rush to choose a list of songs to get approved by the registrar (as in non-church weddings you have to get them checked to make sure they don’t have a religious element) that I just googled songs that were often used in weddings and then we listened to them on You Tube to decide which ones we liked!

I complete agree with you about the cool down track, its pants! I’m so glad my schedule means I can do body pump again, I missed it so much!

I’ve never done body pump before, will have to give it a go sometime. I am really enjoying my workouts at the moment, I’ve just finished phase 2 of LiveFit, so looking forward to starting phase 3 with a new routine! I am feeling slightly exhausted though, the workouts are super long, and I am upping my running mileage as I am marathon training, so I’m pretty tired right now!

I LOVE the cool down track! I thought it was brilliant! I normally hate the cool down track as they try to have some female sap/romantic or just boring music- I thought it was brilliant and very uplifting :) Each to their own!

I love Pink Apples! But choosing them as a single favorite is hard, because Golden Delicious are sooooooo good and Braeburn, Fuji, Gala, and Jonagold make me smile. Even Red Delicious has its moments :)

We still don’t have the new Body Pump release yet (as always – I am so sick of the current one) but I am not a fan of that song anyway. At least I’ll be forewarned so that I don’t start wincing in the cool-down.

Glad you are feeling so strong and healthy – it shines with you from the inside out :)

Ive gone through fazes with apples! Golden delicious used to be my favourite, then pink lady, but I found the skins too tough – have you ever tried Jazz? Theyre like pear drops, so yummy!
