Shopping Trip

This weekend has been pretty fantastio!  This is mainly because it has involved lots of my favourite things.

The most amazing oats!

This was my breakfast on Friday, Chocolate Bounty Banana Oats.  These were so good and really easy to make.  They included oats, unsweetened cocoa powder, water and coconut milk and topped with goji berries and dried mulberries, absolute heaven!

Yesterday we got up really early and headed to Bicester Village to beat the morning rush of traffic.  Since we got up so early we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast.

Grilled panettone with Roobios tea!

This is a new one for me and Alfie as we often go out for lunch and dinner, but we have never been out on a breakfast date.  It felt like such a treat, definitely something I could get accustomed too!

It was quite a bright and sunny morning so I decided to make the most of the sun.

OOTD: white vest top: H&M, butterfly top: Zara, skinny jeans: H&M, wedges: Sole, bag: Mulberry.

It did get a little bit chilly when the sun went in but I came well prepared with a cardigan.

Overall it was a very successful shopping trip as we got a new suit for Alfie plus cufflinks for the big day.  We were also supposed to get his wedding shoes too, but they were out of his size, doh!  Maybe next time?

I also got a few bits for myself too:

A lovely Hamilton Tote from Michael Kors to go with my rehearsal dinner and going away outfits.

I’m just in love with that bag.  Although it was a lot more than I was looking to spend on a bag it’s something that I will get so much use out of, you just can’t go wrong with a tan bag. It will go with everything.

I’ve also been enjoying some delicious food this weekend too.

Blueberry, banana and apple smoothie made with water and almond milk.

A huge plate loaded with salad with mixed salad leaves, red pepper, chick peas, red onion, tomatoes and caramelised onion hummus.  Bit of a chick pea addiction with this salad, love!

Figs, red grapes and Greek yoghurt.

Alfie’s mum came over on Friday night and supplied us with lots of Ghanaian home cooking, including Jollof rice. I had some with two steamed eggs, steamed broccoli and plantain.

Movie snacking: the most sweetest strawberries, Trader Joe’s 85% dark chocolate and raw chocolate covered goji berries.

I’m not going to list my workouts as they were pretty much the same as last week except for the addition of the fab 3,2,1 workout on Tuesday.

It really has been a lovely weekend! After our shopping trip we cosied up on the sofa and watched a The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  I’ve read the Steig Larsson trilogy a little while ago and thought it was fantastic, but had yet to watch the movie starring Daniel Craig.  I have to say that it was fantastic!  I don’t usually like book adaptions but this one was pretty good.  Alfie hasn’t read the books and he really enjoyed the movie too.

I even fitted in a bit of pampering too and painted my nails with Essie’s Tart Deco.

Have you seen The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?  What did you think? Have you read the books?

When was the last time you splurged and treated yourself?

Having breakfast out is a really nice treat, isn’t it?! My husband and I need to start doing it more.

I haven’t treated myself in a while. I really should.

You have me hooked on figs now! And I need to try a version of that porridge too – I wish I could find mulberries locally but I think I’d have to order them online.

Looking great in the sunshine there – you’re as bright as the lovely weather in your outfit :)

I never read the series, but have to say both the Swedish version and David Fincher version of the film are excellent. I pretty much never go out for breakfast, it’s not the easiest one to get vegan options for.

I really enjoyed the books but they were very dark. Love the handbag! I have such a weakness for bags. Mulberry being my absolute fave. :)

That bag’s gorgeous, I love tan leather and it looks a perfect size to get everything in for a day out! I don’t think I’ve ever been out for breakfast, sounds a great idea :-)
I wasn’t too keen on the Dragon Tattoo books – but if the film’s got Daniel Craig in it, I could well be tempted… ;-)

I love going out for breakfast but the only time we do is if we are away- never from home.
That nail colour is gorgeous :)
And I like the film- I had seen all the Swedish ones at the cinema, and they deviated more from the books I felt, whereas the American one stuck more closely to the book.

Thanks! I love it! It’s a lovely sized bag and not too big so that I loose everything inside it. :)

I can imagine that it must be quite difficult, but many places seem to have lots of good options now.
