Currently my garden looks like this…
…a carpet of golden and burnished leaves. I think a certain mister needs to go outside and rake them all up. =) But, a part of me quite likes all of pretty colours of the leaves, they really are perfect.
We had our photo shoot at our reception venue and made the most of the sun and the falling leaves on the ground. It felt like we had so many pictures taken- I’m so eager to see how they come out!
All of the autumnal leaves in my garden got me in the mood for some autumn themed pancakes. I had set on having pancakes for breakfast yesterday in the week but had yet to decide on the flavour.
I made me and Alfie some Apple, Date and Cinnamon Pancakes using wholemeal flour. Pancakes were just made for eating at the weekend. They went down a treat- I will be sharing the recipe soon!
Other meals that I have enjoyed this weekend include an awesome yoghurt mess made using Greek yoghurt, grapes and some nutty granola. I love simple breakfasts like this.
Last night we spent some time in the kitchen and cooked a meal together for a change. We made an Indian curry using a shop bought paste and added aubergine, onion, peppers and broccoli. I had mine with brown rice and Alfie had his with basmati rice and chicken. It felt nice cooking together as it doesn’t happen very often. I guess it’s a nice way to spend some quality time together during a busy working week.
This weekend I’ve been enjoying snack plates for lunch. Today I had this one with raw celery, carrots and tomatoes with some Special K crisps and some sweet chilli hummus. I think the Spanish got it right with Tapas style of eating, it’s right up my street!
I’ve also been enjoying lots of raw chocolate this weekend…
…and a new flavour of chai tea…
I love this tea!
What do love about autumn? I love the cosy nights in , the colours of the leaves and I’m obsessed about squash. I’m going in to town tomorrow to do my last minute wedding shopping and bag myself some squash from the market ready for Halloween.
Do you cook with your partners very often?
