Hello! I hope that you are all having a great week!
I’ve finally got round to replying to your comments on my self-esteem post.
Alfie and I left on Sunday night to spend some time with his mum and then it was straight back to work yesterday morning on a late shift. Even though I had a relaxing time at my mother-in-laws yesterday was pretty tiring with all of the travelling so today I’m just going to be pottering about the house and putting my feet up on my day off from work.
Today I’m going to fill you in on my eats from Saturday. It was a pretty standard day as I was at work all day, but I think my eats were pretty darn tasty and were basically the highlight of my day. So I will begin…
I was a rushed for time as I overslept slightly…ooops! Is anyone else finding it hard to get out of bed with this freezing cold weather we have in the UK? My cosy warm bed seems far more attractive then stepping out into the icy cold weather and snow.
I made sure that I had time to whip up some scrambled free range eggs with a chopped pear and orange.
After a busy morning at work it was time for my mid-morning snack of a banana and another orange. For some reason I seem to be eating oranges non-stop recently. Maybe my subconscious is trying to ward off the risk of a cold and keeping my Vitamin C levels up.
Lunch was a lovely salad of mixed leaves, red pepper, cucumber, pomegranate seeds and organic goat’s cheese. I enjoyed this so much…the sweet pomegranate seeds and goat’s cheese together tasted incredible!
Last week I treated myself to some Nakd bars that were on a 2 for £3 offer. This cocoa and min flavour did the trick to perk me up in the afternoon along with an apple and peppermint tea.
Dinner was all about winter comfort food. We have been enjoying apple and pork sausages with red onion gravy a lot recently. This time I had it with swede mash and steamed broccoli.
In the evening it as all about rest and relaxation with more tea and hot water bottle whilst munching on dates stuffed with almond butter and Urban Fruit’s dried strawberries and apple and pears, yum!
My warm bed, lots of tea, duvet and hot water bottle and hearty food are definitely my winter comforts. What are your winter comforts to see you through the cold weather?
