One of the main things that was important to me when setting up my workspace at home is that I wanted it to be a place where I would feel inspired. A beautiful place where I can sit and feel comfortable, but also feel motivated to smash my to-do list and be productive too.
I wanted something that was organised and practical which also had a touch of my personality that would help to spark my imagination on the dullest of days. I thought that I would share some of the favourite things about my workspace and how they help to keep me motivated to get stuff done.
Burning my favourite scented candles make my room smell gorgeous and create a relaxing environment that is nice to work in.
I’ve always been a sucker for pretty stationery and one of my favourite things about going back to school was getting a new pencil case and filling it with new pens. There are lots of stationery out there that are functional and gorgeous that is going to keep you organised, on track and help to decorate work workspace.
Above my desk is a big cork board where I can pin any important notices, but also my current inspirations and favourite pictures so that I can feel instantly motivated and reminded about the things I love the most.
There is nothing more motivational to work than my family and thinking about our future. I have photographs of my family on my desk to encourage me to work when I feel that I’m procrastinating.
Freshly Cut Flowers
Since spring arrived, I’ve made it a thing to have freshly cut flowers in a Kilner jar on my desk. I love flowers and they are a wonderful way to add a pop of colour to your workspace very easily.
I’ve got an issue with artificial light…I hate it! I know it’s necessary because we can’t work in the dark, however to me natural light is much nicer to work in. I have my desk set up by a window so that I am flooded with lots of natural light when I work and I find that it acts as like such a mood booster when the sun is shining.
What things do you have in your workspace to help you feel inspired? What is your most favourite thing about your workspace?
