Packing my suitcase for myself when we’re going away is a struggle. I always end up with too many outfit options, far too many shoes that aren’t necessary and a suitcase that is about to bust open because it’s too full. Now that I’m a parent, packing has become even more stressful even for a night away. I’m always surprised by how many bags we have to take with us now, our recent family trip to Wales was the perfect example of this.
I do enjoy packing for my little man more, putting together cute little outfits for him is so much fun. However, there is also the boring essential stuff that also has to be packed and the suitcase and car soon fill up. I thought I would share some of the essential baby equipment that we recently took away with us which really helped on our trip.
2. Skip Hop Pronto Changing Mat
3. Safari 2-in-1 Baby Gym
6. V-tech Tiny Touch Remote Control
7. Sophie The Giraffe Teether
Amongst a billion other essentials and the obvious things like nappies, toiletries, stroller, car seat, clothes etc. we found these things pretty handy to have around whilst we were away. Muslin squares have so many uses and are great for shading little ones from the sun in their pushchairs. We took Aiden’s playmat with us, which sounds excessive, but it’s easy to roll up and it meant that he had something familiar from home with him. Toys are definitely essential on long journeys so we took a couple of favourites along as well as his Sophie The Giraffe for his teething gums. Items like the Tiny Diner are brilliant when you’re eating out, it collects all the food waste, rather than it falling all over the floor. A large changing bag is really important to me as it holds everything that we would ever need while on a day trip and keeps personal items, my phone and money safe too.
What essentials do you take with you when you’re travelling with children?
Are you good at packing?
