I’m such a smoothie addict, they are an all-year-round addiction for me but when the summer hits I try to make one every day, mainly for breakfast. My go-to smoothie is a mix of greens, banana, almond butter, coconut water and other add-ins that might take my fancy that morning. I’ve loved coconut water in my smoothies recently to cut the creaminess of my usual almond milk, plus it’s incredibly hydrating which is much-needed in the warmer weather.
Wanting to stay clear of my current obsession with snack bars for my afternoon snack, I decided to try out a smoothie instead. Rather than baking banana bread, which is what I usually make when the fruit bowl is overflowing with bananas I made a lovely fruit smoothie instead.
Summer berries are at their best now and with the much-welcomed summer sunshine, there is no better way to enjoy them in a refreshing smoothie. This smoothie uses coconut water, which is incredibly hydrating and great for your body.
- 1 banana
- 6 large strawberries
- 2 tbsp dessicated coconut
- 330ml coconut water
- Pour all the ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth.
- Serve and enjoy!
To make it more sustainable and filling you could add oats, Greek yoghurt, nut butters, protein powders, coconut oil. Whichever ingredients you decide to add and whatever time you drink it, coconut and strawberries are always a winner!
