I’m not usually a fan of blue nail varnish, but I guess now I have the perfect reason to where it.
Last Wednesday evening I got a manicure at an event I attended in London and decided to go for a minty blue colour in honour of my baby boy. For someone who doesn’t like blue nail varnish usually I spent a hell of a lot of time on Thursday admiring my nails, love this shade. I totally forgot to ask the therapist the name of the shade so I have been trying to hunt down something similar ever since.
Other than admiring my nails last Thursday I did actually have quite a productive day. The sun was shining bright and after my warm water and lemon and catching up with some blogmin I made a tasty breakfast. I opted for half of a small melon sliced with fresh strawberries, organic natural yoghurt, agave nectar and flaked almonds, yum!
The rest of the morning was spent catching up with some house work and writing some blog posts for the following week. I snacked on some Californian almonds to keep me going until lunch. The healthy fats in these really do fill me up and they also taste great which is an added bonus. After more writing I took a break from my computer to make lunch:
Literally I just threw this salad together and it included romaine lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, peppers and it was drizzled with a balsamic dressing. As basic as it looks in appearance I was surprised by how delicious it turned out. It was the perfect lunch for me in the heat too. Just after eating this Alfie came home from work on a half day. I still needed to get the last of his Father’s Day presents from the munchkin so I popped out to run some errands and purchase his gift, luckily I managed to sneak it into the house unnoticed.
It was still really sunny outside when I got back so we both ate strawberry Cornetto’s in the garden in the sunshine. I don’t think I could ever live without a garden or outside space now. I love being able to just pop out into our private space whenever the sun is shining in the summer time. Unfortunately, I couldn’t enjoy it for long as more work was calling and back to my desk I went.
For dinner I baked some sweet chilli salmon from the Saucy Fish Company, loving this brand at the moment. We had the salmon with baby new potatoes and a salad of romaine lettuce, red onion, tomatoes and avocado, yum!
I finished the day on quite a random dessert. My cravings told me that I wanted frozen cherries and passion fruit curd, but I also fancied one of my Fruit and Nut Raw Chocolates too. Not a combination that I would normally put together and it sounds completely weird, but hey I’m pregnant so please don’t judge! 🙂
Well that’s it for another WIAW post, it only seems like yesterday that I posted last weeks, time is just flying by! A week later I’m still obsessed with my blue nail colour and seriously thinking about wearing during labour, not that I will be caring what colour my nails are in the midst of it all, ha! The Cornetto ice cream was such a treat and tasted lovely, but I really should dust off my ice cream maker and get creative with some flavours I’ve been pinning loads recently and I’m dreaming about pistachio ice cream at the moment, yum!
