It’s been scorching hot lately! With the sweltering weather, I’ve been savouring this delectable concoction…
I think it’s fair to claim that I’m currently addicted to watermelon and strawberries. Watermelon’s calming powers have helped me deal with the heat, and I’ve been snacking on it nonstop. And strawberries, now that they’re in season, are delicious, and I’ve been eating mountains of them.
In an almost epiphany-like moment, I chose to combine my two addictions and create this beautiful summer drink that, if I do say so myself, outshines every store-bought sugary drink.
In one of the vintage beakers that have been showing up on my Pinterest recently, this looks so cute and pink. The pink polka dot straws are obviously optional, but I think they add a nice touch to the overall look.
I can see this serving well as a morning smoothie with the addition of protein powder to make it more filling. You might also transform this drink into popsicles utilising the same formula and technique, which would be ideal for dessert or a late-night snack on a hot and humid evening. This will be a perfect non-alcoholic cocktail to have at a barbecue or garden picnic. You might render this vegan by replacing the Greek yoghurt with almond milk, which will still give it a creamy taste.
I love how hydrating coconut water is in this, and how it has helped me stay cool in the sun. There have been times that I’ve felt as though I was melting! I’m relieved that it’s already somewhat colder.
How have you managed to stay alive in these scorching temperatures? Do you like watermelon?
