Oh, hey, hey, hey I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
I’ve had a fantastic week full of wonderful experiences, and resuming my daily schedule since my vacation has been wonderful. It’s now pouring cats and dogs, which might have spoiled my brother’s visit plans for today. Hopefully, the rain doesn’t last for much and the sun rises, otherwise we’ll be enjoying a pyjama day instead.
Getting back into the swing of things has included a variety of green smoothies this week, like the one pictured above, which was my personal favourite. Few of my latest green smoothies haven’t been particularly tasty, but this one was fantastic. This is a tried-and-true peanut butter and banana recipe. Since it was a hot morning, I also added lettuce, unsweetened almond milk, and frost.
The following are some of the other cuisine highlights from my week:
Everything else in the fridge was used to make a lentil salad. Mixed leaves, cucumber, carrots, green lentils, garlic and black pepper soft cheese, peppers, and spring onions were among the ingredients I used.
On Friday afternoon, we were in town and realised we hadn’t had Millie’s Cookies in at least 5 years. I used to eat these on a daily basis because I loved them too much. We got a package as a treat, and I had a pair of hazelnut and praline cookies, which were delicious!
I purchased a large punnet of blueberries at the grocery store last week and have been consuming them like crazy this week. For a balanced breakfast or afternoon snack, I love them with organic natural yoghurt (full fat), nectarines, honey, and almonds.
Leftovers from a quinoa and chickpea salad I’ve been recipe testing for the site, roasted vegetables, plantain, and steamed kale make for a simple fast dinner. Quick and full of my favourite foods, I love thrown-together meals like this.
Kale chips are a delicious snack that I can consume more often. I was sent these Inspiral cacao and cinnamon kale chips to evaluate for the site, and I’ve been very pleased with them so far. They have a black colour with a sour flavour due to the cacao.
At the moment, stir fries appear to be a bit of an obsession for me. This was a chilli beef stir fry with dense rice noodles and a bag of stir-fried vegetables. It’s a quick and easy way to add more vegetables to your diet.
This overnight oats with blueberries, almond butter, a large dollop of Nutella, and slices of watermelon is another winning breakfast in my mind. Right now, some of my favourite ingredients are all on one tray.
This week’s workouts looks like this:
Monday: 10 minute easy cardio and conditioning workout (bicep lifts, shoulder twists, chest presses, squats against the wall, and weighted butt raises, plus yoga stretches)
Tuesday – stroll for 30 minutes
Wednesday morning workout session (10 minutes easy fitness and conditioning routine – bicep twists, shoulder bends, chest presses, wall squats, and weighted butt raises, plus yoga stretches)
On Thursday, there’ll be an active antenatal class.
Friday morning workout session (10 minutes of easy aerobic and strength training, including bicep lifts, shoulder twists, chest presses, squats against the wall, and weighted butt raises, as well as yoga stretches)

This week, I made a concerted effort to get back into my fitness routine. Overall, I’m happy about what I’ve accomplished, and I always enjoy my walks through the countryside, but I’ve developed a maternity waddle and am noticeably slower. This week was my first involved antenatal lesson, and it was fantastic; I enjoyed meeting other pregnant women who are all due at the same time as me.
But now that I’m nearing the end of my pregnancy, there’s a lot going on in terms of my mind and body, as well as general birth planning. I’m going to hold my pregnancy announcements in different weekly articles until the end of my pregnancy because I have a lot to tell about it, beginning with my antenatal classes and labour and delivery plans. I acknowledge that these articles may not be of interest to all, however I believe they will be enjoyable to read in the future.
I’m becoming more and more excited for the little man’s arrival as I sit here at 34 weeks pregnant, particularly now that he’s head down. This week, I received my whooping cough injection, which left me with a swollen arm for a few days. He’s still been jumping around a lot, and there’s a clear trend of quiet and more busy periods now that he’s running out of room in there.
I hope you all have a wonderful remainder of the weekend. Now that the rain has ended, I’m hoping that it stays that way!
Have you recently found some fresh and exciting snacks? What are your favourite ways to pass the time on rainy days?
