When you’re pressed for time, getting a good workout can be tough. I’m currently trying to fit my exercises into my busy mama routine unless Alfie is at home to take over childcare. I’ve been searching for at-home workouts that are fast and bring me through my paces. Home exercises have a bad rep because they don’t seem to be as intense as heading to the gym, but in my experience, they can be just as successful, if not more so, than thrashing it out at the gym.
I looked on Pinterest for some awesome kick-ass exercises that you can quickly incorporate into your daily routine. These exercises last anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes, so no matter how much time you have, you can feel sweaty and ready to tackle the day.
- Total Body Blast
Lauren Gleisberg created a circuit workout that utilises just your body weight, which is ideal if you don’t have any gym equipment at home. You will get a great all-over body exercise in your own house with 5 rounds of burpees, leaping lunges, triangle tricep push-ups, and more. The entire routine can be found here.
- Good Morning Yoga Sequence
Yoga is a great way to get the day started, and this MindBodyGreen morning yoga series is a great way to feel energised and ready to take on the day. This routine lasts around 5-10 minutes, but you can make it last longer by repeating the series. The complete routine can be found here.
- A 7-Minute High-Intensity Interval Training Workout
HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) is becoming more common as a way to get a great workout in a limited period of time. Short bursts of vigorous workout accompanied by short recovery periods have your heart racing and your body challenged. Popsugar’s HITT circuit is a perfect all-over body exercise that takes just 7 minutes.
- 5-Minute Morning Workout
It will seem impossible to get a good workout in 5 minutes, but this morning circuit routine looks like it will leave you soaking wet. The circuit is replicated twice, with each exercise lasting 30 seconds before going on to the next. You will find the whole exercise here.
- Thigh and Buttocks Bodyweight Circuit
This demanding 10-minute body weight circuit could be for you if you’re trying to tone your lower body specifically. If your workout target is to lose more calories, this method, which is focused on HIITs, will help you achieve that. The complete routine can be found here.
- 10-Minute Tabata Workout
Tabata is the way to go for a fast and productive workout. Before you start your day, this 10-minute video from Popsugar will walk you through a series of workouts that will tone your body and raise your heart rate.
- 15-Minute Morning Yoga
What you need is 15 minutes for another lovely yoga session to help you wake up and feel empowered to start your day. The video can be seen here.
- Arms and Core Hand Weight Workout
You’ll need dumbbells for this exercise, but I think tinned beans or water bottles will serve just as well. This routine targets the arms and heart with a series of eight movements that last 20-30 seconds each and are performed three times. You will find the whole routine here.
- 6-Minute Morning Workout
This quick yet effective HIIT circuit exercise will help you lose calories and body fat before you leave the house in the morning. With just four workouts in this routine, you won’t have any time to relax, ensuring that you’ll raise your heart rate and feel great in only six minutes. This workout’s specifics can be found here.
10. Get up and get toning!
This exercise will tone your stomach, butts, thighs, and core. It takes just 5-minutes to complete and does not need any workout equipment, rendering it readily available to everyone and doable everywhere. The entire workout can be found here.
When I have the opportunity, I like to work out in the morning because it jump-starts my day and ensures that I don’t have to squeeze it in later. You will get in a kick-ass workout that isn’t time-consuming by timing your alarm a little sooner. Check out my Fitness Board on Pinterest for more fast and successful exercise ideas:
