I turned another year older on Wednesday, and despite the fact that I’m one year away from 30, I’m not as sad as I expected to be. ,When I was 21, turning 30 sounded like the toughest thing that might ever happen to me, like the end of the planet! Melodramatic, wasn’t I?
Really, I couldn’t be happier about my life right now and I believe I’ve accomplished too much and have so much to be grateful for that there’s no need to be unhappy about growing older. I marked my 29th birthday with a huge fat wedge of birthday cake, like all birthdays should be.
The lighter, sunny mornings we’ve had this week have affected my breakfasts. This delicious meal, which included full-fat Greek yoghurt, blackberries, avocado, pumpkin seeds, almonds, and honey, was a perfect way to start my Sunday last week.
On Friday morning, I had a little spare time and felt like a smoothie in a cup for breakfast. Spinach, pineapple, lucuma powder, coconut oil, unsweetened almond milk, and vanilla protein powder were mixed together, and Chocshot and organic hazelnut butter were added on top.
This beautiful salad was created with leftovers from my weekly grocery shop—spinach, chickpeas, edamame beans, spring onions, and feta cheese, to name a few ingredients.
I made a large batch of chilli with organic mince beef for dinner this week. I made so many that I had plenty for lunch the next day before our supermarket delivery. I combined some of the leftovers with lettuce, chickpeas, edamame beans, and feta cheese crumbles.
We had lunch at The Milk Shed, one of my current favourite locations, the other day. It was Alfie’s first visit, and he enjoyed the atmosphere and atmosphere. I ordered one of the board’s specials, which was grilled mackerel with toasted soda bread and rocket, which was delicious!
We then shared some of their homemade ice cream. It was tough to pick from all of the wonderful flavours, but we finally decided on salted caramel and honeycomb:
This quotation perfectly expresses how I feel about growing older…
This year’s birthday was particularly memorable because of my baby boy. My little man brought me some lipstick, and my mother sent me some money to treat myself. Alfie has sent me some money for the latest DSLR that I’ve had my eye on, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
After more than two years of my iPhone, I shattered the screen on my birthday (what poor luck! ), so as a birthday present to myself, I went out and bought the new iPhone 6 – I’m such an apple nerd!
We’re heading out for a fancy dinner tonight to commemorate our ten-year anniversary, which occurred on Friday…
The passage of time is really amazing.
